The study of wine is known as Oenology...but I'm too busy drinking to study. So, I choose Winography. I drink it and then I tell you what I drank. Enjoy my drinking...

Place & Date Purchased: WineStyles, Evanston, IL - 11/10/2007 Place & Date Tasted: Home - 12/29/2007
Appearance: Very dark burgundy Nose: Raspberry aroma; oak spice scent Taste: Hot, slightly bitter and acidic Finish: Lingers...and not in a good way. Overall Impression: I was not very impressed, but others that have tried it definitely liked it. I probably should have let it breathe more.
Vintage: 2004 Price Range: $20 Producer: Geyser Park Winery Region & Country: Geyserville, California, USA Grape Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon Recommended By: N/A
Place & Date Purchased: Dominick's Grocery - 12/21/2007 Place & Date Tasted: Home - 12/23/2007
Appearance: Deep red; almost purple Nose: Hot, yet spicy scent; light hint of fruit Taste: Smooth and sweet; you can definitely taste the cherries Finish: Taste just lingers and coats the mouth Overall Impression: The scent throws you off because you think it's going to be a hot wine, but it was delicious. It was very good with Havarti cheese. I would definitely get this one again, but more for me. I wouldn't want to share this at a party!

Vintage: 2004 Price Range: $14 Producer: Capolan Winery Region & Country: Graton, California, USA Grape Variety: Merlot Recommended By: N/A
Place & Date Purchased: WineStyles, Evanston, IL - 10/15/2007 Place & Date Tasted: Home - 12/11/2007
Appearance: Very dark maroon Nose: Spicy aroma Taste: Weak. Almost watery Finish: Watery, plain and not very full Overall Impression: I didn't find this was very enjoyable. The bottle's label on the other hand is very colorful and distracts you from thinking this may be a bad wine.
Vintage: 2006 Price Range: $11 Producer: Nobilo Wine Group Region & Country: Auckland, New Zealand Grape Variety: Sauvignon Blanc Recommended By: Sample at Dominick's Grocery
Place & Date Purchased: Dominick's Grocery, Chicago, IL - 11/21/2007 Place & Date Tasted: Home - 12/11/2007
Appearance: Pale gold Nose: Crisp apple with a touch of grapefruit Taste: Fruity, citrus, tart, a little lemon flavor Finish: Crisp, clean aftertaste; cleans the palate Overall Impression: Anyone who knows me, knows that I'm not a white wine person. Christie Nyssen actually drank the majority of this bottle and the words she used were, "I love it!"
I grew up in the south and I still like to consider myself a "southern girl." Oh yes, American by birth, yet Southern by the grace of God. I now live up north where the people talk funny and wear shoes. Just kidding.
I really would like to say that I'm a simple kind of girl, but my friends usually disagree by telling me how horrible I am and how complicated I can be. That's why they love me, or so I've been told.
