Region & Country: Colchagua Valley, Chile
Grape Variety: Red Blend (70% Cabernet Sauvignon; 30% Carmenere)
Recommended By: Wine Club
Place & Date Purchased: WineStyles, Evanston, IL - 1/5/2009
Place & Date Tasted: Home; 10/6/2009
Appearance: Full-bodied; Deep red or blood red
Nose: Cherry, raspberry, oak, a little licorice; smells very rich
Taste: Bold, yet acidic; has some spice to it; earthy
Finish: Very powerful oak, vanilla and berries; lingers
Overall Impression: I rarely come across a wine where the best part is the finish. Usually, it's impressing from the get-go, but this wine had all the best flavors in its finish. You get reunited with the aromas you caught before. I also loved the boldness of this wine.

Dinner: Baked chicken breast w/ vegetables
Appearance: Brilliant, pale yellow-gold; full-bodied
Nose: Pear, apple, a little bit of peach and honey; light on the nose
Taste: Clean, crisp taste; a nice taste of lemon, but cleansing
Finish: Slightly acidic and lingers; somewhat creamy
Overall Impression: Although I had this with a seasoned chicken breast (and it was so paired deliciously), I'm betting this white would be wonderful with some spicy food. The taste is so cleansing, cooling and fresh that it would be a great wash over the spiciness. This is also definitely a summer wine!

Place & Date Tasted: Home - 8/21/2009
Appearance: Very dark red - almost black; very cloudy; full-bodied
Nose: Berry jam scent, but somewhat hot
Taste: Some berries, somewhat sour and heavy
Finish: Dry and lingers slightly; the finish is the best part
Overall Impression: So I took a chance by purchasing this wine. The bottle many have not been touched for quite some time. Plus, I'm suspicious that there may have been a little cork rot. I just needed to let this one breathe... a lot! Seriously! I wasn't very impressed by it. It was just way too sour and very hot even after I gave it plenty of time to breathe.

Appearance: Medium-bodied; pale yellow; brilliant and clean
Nose: Apples, melon, soft floral and smoked oak
Taste: Sweet, green apples; crisp, creamy and slightly acidic
Finish: Lingers slightly, but still clean; tart to smooth finish
Overall Impression: Maggie's Attic seems to start off tart but then finishes in a smooth, silky way. We had pasta and it was great with a while sauce. After dinner, it still tasted good. This wine can definitely stand alone. I know it's not very good with dessert though.

Dinner: Steak, salad & various cheeses
Appearance: Raspberry red; full-bodied
Nose: Slightly hot, with berry and spice bouquet
Taste: Berries, spices and slightly sweet
Finish: Lingers, but smooth
Overall Impression: As you are well aware, I do enjoy Killer Bee a lot, but I enjoyed other grapes more. The Carmenere was different, but in a good way. It definitely holds its own.

Appearance: Brilliant pale gold; light bodied
Nose: Fruity - apples and pears; aroma is clean and strong
Taste: Sweet, clean and crisp; a little buttery
Finish: Apple finish, sweet, low acidity, lingers
Overall Impression: KB's Chardonnay is a great medium wine that does not overpower with sweetness or tartness. It's just the right amount on every side. A "just right" white, if you will.

Dinner: Italian sausage stuffed portobella mushrooms and pasta
Appearance: Deep ruby red
Nose: Hot scent, slightly fruity with a little pepper
Taste: Lightly fruity, cherry taste
Finish: Lingers, acidic and dry
Overall Impression: You can't go wrong when your bottle comes in a sack, right? It's right there on the bottle. This is a good dinner wine, even though it did not go very well with the dinner made. I'm sure it would have been better with something lighter. I do think that this is the kind of wine that would do better with food than alone.

Dinner: Barbecue chicken wrap
Appearance: Thick, blood red; very opaque
Nose: Vibrant chocolate with fruity tones
Taste: Complex flavor and very bold
Finish: Lingers with spice and slightly dry
Overall Impression: I loved this wine. There were so many flavors in just one sip. It had very complex tastes and such boldness. This is definitely one to pick up. KB's Malbec was good, but this cab is awesome!

Note: I got into a car accident today and spend 5 hours in the emergency. Not to worry; I'm okay. Now it's time for some wine.
Appearance: Deep, dark red; garnet
Nose: Warm, citrus aroma
Taste: Fruity, flavorful, very bold
Finish: Taste lingers; It is flavorful but it also lasts
Overall Impression: This wine was delicious! I really liked it and think it would make a great stand-alone wine. I would bring this to a party or give this as a gift if you want to impress.

Appearance: Deep red
Nose: Citrus aroma, spicy & strong
Taste: Way too strong! Way too hot!
Finish: Bitter; it has a bite that lingers
Overall Impression: This wine is dubbed as the people of Evanston, IL favorite. I have some questions for the people of Evanston and that's...WHY? May make for a good sangria but alone, it's not good. It was just too strong and too much. I may revisit this wine and see what would happen if I let it breathe a little more.
